The UK government is launching new privacy legislation related to use of cookie on web sites. This legislation will require those with responsibilities for the provision of institutional web sites to develop appropriate policies and procedures.

Many universities will be developing such policies. In order to minimise unnecessary duplication of effort UKOLN and JISC Legal have been working with a small group led by the University of Bradford who are looking to share examples of institutional policies.

This web site provide access to a generic privacy policy based on a policy which is currently being developed at the University of Bradford.  Comments on this policy are welcomed.
